"Andrew Tate Sued for Sexual Assault by Ex-Girlfriend"

Andrew Tate, a hugely successful social media influencer known for expressing misogynistic views online, is facing a new lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend accusing him of sexual assault and battery

Andrew Tate, a controversial social media influencer known for his misogynistic views, is facing a new lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend, Brianna Stern, who has accused him of sexual assault and battery. This lawsuit adds to Tate's existing legal troubles in Romania, where he is charged with human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. His brother, Tristan Tate, is also implicated in these allegations.

In her complaint, filed in Los Angeles on Thursday, Stern alleges that Tate's abusive treatment is consistent with a long-standing pattern of misogyny that he has integrated into his online persona. She describes how he initially presented himself as loving and generous, only to later subject her to an abusive relationship.

The lawsuit details a specific incident at the Beverly Hills Hotel earlier in the month, where Stern claims that Tate choked and beat her, ultimately leading to a diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome. In response to these allegations, Tate's attorney, Joseph McBride, stated that his client denies all allegations of violence, characterizing Stern's claims as a potential "money grab" influenced by ongoing controversy surrounding Tate.

McBride insisted that the lawsuit represents a misuse of the judicial system against an innocent man, claiming that the allegations are fabricated for financial gain. The Tate brothers, who hold citizenship in both the U.S. and the U.K., were arrested in Romania in late 2022 and formally indicted last year. They maintain their innocence regarding all charges against them.

Stern and Tate first met in July 2024, when the Tate brothers invited her to Romania under the pretense of seeking models for their cryptocurrency meme coin promotion. During this time, she asserts that Tate manipulated her perception, portraying himself as a supporter of women, which contributed to her initial attraction to him.

After returning to the United States, Stern alleges that Tate's communication took a menacing turn. She claims he began sending threatening messages, referring to her as his "property" and suggesting physical violence, such as in one message where he said she had an attitude because she was "not hit enough." In defending his client, McBride has dismissed these messages as "doctored, edited, and falsified," asserting that they will not hold up in court.

Stern alleges that during their last encounter at the hotel, Tate physically assaulted her while making threats to her life. She reported that amid the violence, he repeatedly stated that if she ever "crossed him," he would kill her. Tate, a 38-year-old former professional kickboxer, has gained notoriety for his online presence, attracting millions of followers, largely young men drawn to the lavish lifestyle he boasts.

Tate has previously faced bans from platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook due to hate speech, including statements suggesting that women should bear responsibility for sexual assault. He and his brother are also notable supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Recently, the Tate brothers checked in at a police station near Bucharest, conforming to judicial requirements related to their human trafficking case. This compliance followed the lifting of a travel ban that had been imposed on them after a Romanian court identified various legal inconsistencies that posed challenges to the prosecution's case.

Despite the allegations against him, Tate maintains that Romanian authorities lack sufficient evidence to convict him and has claimed that there exists a political conspiracy aimed at silencing him. Following their return to Florida, the state's attorney general has opened a criminal investigation into the brothers, further complicating their legal troubles.

In the U.K., four women have filed suit against Tate after the Crown Prosecution Service opted not to prosecute him on separate sexual violence charges. Last March, the Tate brothers attended a court hearing in Bucharest regarding a request from U.K. authorities for extradition due to longstanding allegations of sexual aggression. The Romanian appeals court granted the extradition request, but only after the resolution of their legal matters in Romania.

Stern expressed concern for her safety in light of her public accusations against Tate, stating that she had considered leaving him silently out of fear but ultimately recognized that remaining silent would be an act of cowardice. Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, commended Stern for her bravery in coming forward and making her voice heard.
