"Andrew Tate Faces Serious Assault Allegations in Court"

LONDON (AP) — One of four women suing influencer and self-described misogynist Andrew Tate for sexual assault has made alarming allegations that he whipped her with a belt and once threatened her by pointing a gun at her face, according to court documents filed in London. These accusations, which were initially submitted last year, surfaced just days before the first hearing in the civil case, set to take place next week in the High Court.

Andrew Tate, aged 38, will not be attending the hearing because he is currently facing serious criminal charges in Romania, including human trafficking and forming a criminal organization aimed at sexually exploiting women. The woman who claims Tate threatened her with a gun reported that he told her, "you're going to do as I say or there'll be hell to pay," although it remains unclear whether the firearm was real or a replica. She also testified that if she failed to get out of bed to carry out work for his webcam business, he would whip her with a belt.

Two of the women involved in the civil lawsuit have connections to Tate's webcam business, while the other two are former girlfriends. Their identities have not been disclosed due to legal guidelines in England, and the incidents are alleged to have occurred between 2013 and 2015. In response to the serious claims made against him, a spokesperson for Tate emphasized that the allegations presented in the court documents are "unproven and untested" and firmly asserted that he categorically denies any wrongdoing.

The spokesperson's statement specified that Tate denies ever threatening anyone with a firearm, engaging in non-consensual acts, or subjecting any individual to physical or psychological harm. Notably, the U.K. Crown Prosecution Service had previously decided not to proceed with prosecution against Tate related to sexual assault allegations in 2019. Three women currently involved in the civil suit were part of a police investigation that prosecutors ultimately chose not to pursue.

Tate and his sibling, Tristan Tate—both dual U.S. and British citizens—were arrested in Romania in late 2022, and they were formally indicted the following year. The indictment includes charges of participation in a criminal network that allegedly lured women to Romania for sexual exploitation, with Andrew Tate facing additional charges of rape. Both brothers have publicly denied all allegations against them.

Furthermore, the Tates are facing potential extradition to the U.K. once their legal proceedings in Romania are complete. This follows a European arrest warrant issued by England's Bedfordshire Police concerning further allegations of rape and human trafficking involving different women from 2012 to 2015.

In a related development, last month Andrew Tate's former girlfriend, Brianna Stern, filed a separate lawsuit against him in Los Angeles, accusing him of sexual assault and battery, allegations which Tate also denies. The Associated Press typically withholds the identities of individuals who allege they are victims of sexual abuse unless those individuals publicly disclose their stories, as was the case with Stern.

As the civil case progresses in the High Court, the accusations against Andrew Tate and the broader implications of his actions continue to unfold, attracting significant media attention and public discourse.
