CAPE BRETON, N.B. – In an eventful night in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, the Moncton Wildcats triumphed over the Cape Breton Eagles with a score of 6-3. The standout player for Moncton was Markus Vidicek, who impressed fans by scoring a hat trick. His teammates contributed significantly to the scoreboard as well, with Gabe Smith netting two goals and Maxime Cote adding another. Moncton's goaltender, Mathis Rousseau, showcased a solid performance by blocking 18 shots throughout the game.
The Cape Breton Eagles fought hard, with contributions from Andrew Brown, Joseph Henneberry, and Jacob Newcombe, each getting a goal. Despite their efforts, they couldn't secure the win, with their goalie Alexis Cournoyer managing to make 26 saves against Moncton's relentless offense.
